Dr. Nadhem AlFardan has more than 24 years of experience in Information security and holds a Ph.D. in Information Security from Royal Holloway, University of London. Before joining Cisco, he worked for Schlumberger and HSBC. In Cisco, Dr. Nadhem AlFardan leads the security operations centre and proactive IR service practices in APJC for Cisco CX with extended support to EMEA and Americas. He works closely with CTOs, CIOs, and CISOs across APJC and EMEA in areas related to cyber security and security operations centres. He is a regular speaker at cyber security conferences. As a distinguished architect in Cisco, Nadhem AlFardan has led and participated in several large-scale security projects worldwide, including security architecture, information security management systems, and the design of security operation centres. His recent work includes leading the development of AI in security operations (AISecOps). During his Ph.D. research, Nadhem AlFardan published a number of papers at prestige conferences such as IEEE S&P and USENIX Security, mainly around cryptoanalysis topics. His work involved him working with organizations like Google, Microsoft, Cisco, Mozilla, OpenSSL, and many others, mainly to help then assess and fix major findings in the TLS/SSL protocol. His work is referenced in a number of IETF standards on TLS. Dr. Nadhem AlFardan is currently CISSP and ISO 27001 Lead Auditor certified. He is also the co-author of Cisco Press’ Security Operations Center: Building, Operating and Maintaining your SOC, published in November 2015. He published the early release of his second book, Cyber Threat Hunting, in May 2022.
